When in Lingayen Pangasinan one will surely fall in love with Maramba Boulevard, the Capitol and of course the clean public beach. That doesn’t include the old houses like of the Ramos House. Taking this, one should consider a good resting place while touring this city where I found love šŸ˜‰ – more on that later. The President Hotel on Maramba Boulevard is not just for presidents but the treatment and service is like of a president.

We arrived in Lingayen at 3am from Manila. Thankfully there was somebody to welcome us in the lobby. The staff was actually expecting us at 3am. He immediately accompanied us in our respective rooms to cap the night; I mean morning and prepare for our activity the next day.

The lobby and the hall way leading to our room in the Annex building is very pleasant with benches which for me is very inviting for the guest of guests. Lovely, the wooden seats makes the hotel a minimalist-neat in style.

Our room was very spacious. Itā€™s a matrimonial room with big cabinet and two drawers for two guess. Each piece has a varnished-executive color making me feel like a President. Whatā€™s missing is my name on the door mark ā€œHis Excellencyā€ Kidding aside, the room is minimalist but remarkable.

The hotel provides all the necessities for a decent hotel stay. Each room has a fresh smelling linen and fine blanket. As I always say I am very particular in terms of the smell of the linen including the towel. Some hotels have clean linens and towel, for sure they do laundry regularly, but what I hate is the smell of a cabinet on the line or the smell of a moth balls in it. The President Hotel didn’t disappoint me. I got fresh and neat linen and towel.

The only thing that disappointed me was the bathroom. The hot shower wasn’t working. Usually I crave for a hot bath to relax my muscle after an all-day travel.

The President Hotel also serves breakfast meal from Filipino to American plate. Just ring the lobby and your breakfast in bed will be ready.

Wonder why the hotel is called The President Hotel?

Well, this is the story. Fidel V. Ramosā€™s mansion was once stood at the present location of the hotel. Fidel Valdez Ramos is one of the most important political figure in the Philippines during and after Martial Law. During his time the Philippines was tagged a Tiger Economy in Asia before the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997. The building according to the hotel staff was used by Ramos as his political headquarters during the 1992 election before it became a hotel. The once glorious mansion of the Ramosā€™s has a replica at the back of the hotel.
